A workshop exploring grief through movement and creativity.
$105, $90, $75*
Lean into grief with breathwork, meditation, and yoga. Using art, writing, and story sharing. Daisha Nilsen of Daish Wellness and Coaching and Tamara Kubacki of Listening to Grief (that’s me!) lead a small group through various movement and creative exercises. Movement and breathwork help move heavy feelings through the body and discussion and writing prompts aid in processing the many different types of grief we all carry. Snacks and tea provided. Bring your own yoga mat and mug for tea.
All kinds of grief are welcome. The death of a loved one always brings grief, but we also feel grief over any big change, including divorce or break ups, job loss, the death of a pet, a move to a new city, and other big changes. We can also feel grief for the collective, like because of war and climate change, and because of ancestral trauma. It's all welcome here.
Being in a group with other people who are grieving and having “big feelings” often makes us feel seen and heard in ways that we may not be otherwise. We’ll spend time sharing as a large group as well as in smaller groups. We will meditate and do yoga to move grief through our bodies and out of our heads. The goal is not to heal our grief, but to work with it in new ways that help us embrace the grief so we can grow around it.
We will be sitting on the floor when we aren’t moving, including during writing and sharing activities. The space is accessible and all the activities can be adjusted as needed.
