New Grief Circle

Often when I tell someone that I’m a certified grief coach and educator, they ask if I work with people who are grieving . . . [insert difficult topic here]. I’ve been asked whether I work with people dealing with divorce, postpartum depression, and the climate crisis.

I’ve always responded that the workshops and grief walks I do are open to anyone, but the grief support groups and one-on-one coaching are just for adults grieving the death of a loved one. One of the things about the grief walks that I appreciate is the breadth of reasons people attend. Most people join because someone they loved has died, but some walks have at least a few people grieving something different. Everyone is welcome, and the feedback I’ve received reinforces the open and welcoming community created on each walk. I intend to bring this same energy to the new grief circle, and hope to build a regular community of grievers who will support each other.

On Sunday, February 23rd, I’m offering the first monthly (Any Grief) Grief Circle. Like the Monday Night Grief Groups, this is based on the work of Dr. Patrick Arbore and the traumatic loss grief group I attend, but I am also drawing inspiration from workshops, groups, and classes I’ve taken from Motherwort + Rose, New Moon Mama, Mama Be Well, and Studio Saudade. I strongly recommend checking out what they offer and attending what you are interested in.

There will be time for sharing, writing, and short ritual, but the intent of this circle, like everything Listening to Grief offers, is to normalize grief and to find a community of others who also feel the weight of grief.

Bring something to drink (there will be hot and cold water), a notebook and pen, and a small object that brings you comfort (optional).

The cost is $32, but I’m happy to provide a discount for anyone who needs it. Just reply to this email and ask! There’s also a four-session package available.

Thanks to Nurture Wellbeing for opening their lovely Studio 102 to Listening to Grief’s new Grief Circle.
